Sony PCS-G70NP 4Mb IP base system with camera
Sony PCS-G70 4Mb IP base system with camera Sony PCS-G70 (also referred to as PCS-G70NP, is a high-end videoconferencing solution, which offers improved audio and video on multi-point calls, as well as new capture and display features designed to complement the high-end boardrooms, large conferencing centres or auditoriums and applications in healthcare where high quality is key. Superb picture quality can be achieved in point-to-point and multi-point calls with the H.264 video capability. The picture quality can be even further enhanced through interlaced video coding or 4CIF live video, resulting in TV quality images. The Sony PCS-G70NP offers new capture and display options to offer a more scalable customized conference experience. To accommodate larger conference rooms, the new system can accommodate output to five separate monitors, enabling full-screen viewing of up to five far-side call participants. For smaller rooms, the participants can still be viewed on one screen in split-screen format. In addition, each participant can be labelled on-screen. A new dual video option allows two cameras to capture live video and transmit it simultaneously. For instance, in a large conference room, one camera can focus on the speaker, while the other on the audience, and each image can be viewed simultaneously on separate monitors or on split display. And to accommodate the newest plasma and LCD display screens, the PCS-G70NP can be used with Sony’s new 3 CCD chip camera (optional extra BRC-300) to capture images in a 16:9. Features Clear and concise audio and video - interlaced Video and 4CIF live video technology delivers up to TV quality video. The PCS-G70NP supports a wide range of audio coding standards. Doubling the frequency range of conventional audio codecs, the PCS-G70NP ensures that every participant can be heard with unprecedented clarity. MPEG4 audio coding is supported by the PCS-G70NP in point-to-point and multipoint conferences with any mix of PCS-G70NP, PCS-1P and PCS-TL50P. Very high bandwidth is available with 4 Mbps over IP and 2 Mbps over ISDN. It is able to connect 2 PCs or laptops and share data at the touch of a button in parallel to audio and video. The newly designed GUI (Graphical User Interface) of the PCS-G70NP provides all necessary user information on one screen to place or receive a videoconference call. Future-proof - scalability, flexibility and future proof are all enhanced features on the PCS-G70NP. Due to the modular approach, users can start with a base unit and expand with growing needs at any time. Unique multipoint functionality is also available. This way the G70 can be smartly placed in any stylish meeting room, using only little space. Encryption device keeps confidential information, confidential - Embedded Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) makes sure that confidential information stays confidential during the conference. Quality of Service (QoS) - PCS-G70NP includes state-of-the-art Quality of Service (QoS) technology as a standard. (A combination of) Adaptive Rate Control (ARC), real-time Auto Repeat Request and Forward Error Correction (FEC) are used to ensure that the user makes the best usage of their IP network even under dynamically changing network conditions and that possible packet-loss is recovered respectively. Present drawings and sketches next to your image - data collaboration capabilities featured in the current PCS-1 system will also be compatible with the PCS-G70NP. During a videoconference between any combination of PCS-G70NP, PCS-1P, PCS-11P and PCS-TL50P, drawings and sketches can be made in real-time and are shown live to the remote side or sides in a multipoint conference (IP and ISDN). Depending on the configuration of the VC systems (single or dual monitor), the whiteboard data can be seen with the presenter’s image simultaneously. Share PC files - the “plug in” data solutions box makes it easy to share any kind of PC files, while hand-written data can be transmitted and displayed real-time via a dedicated interface for Virtual Ink’s mimio Xi electronic whiteboard (optional extra). In case the far-end side in a videoconference does not support the H.239 standard, the PCS-G70NP can transmit the 2 video streams as one video image. The single video stream that is transmitted that can be displayed in the “Vertical Split Format” or the “Horizontal Split Format”: Encryption device ensures confidence - the embedded Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) ensures that confidential information remains confidential throughout the meeting. For communication over LAN (IP) networks, the PCS-G70NP supports the AES algorithm to encrypt the audio, video and data information during the videoconference to prevent eavesdropping of your videoconference. To set the encryption to ON, both dialling and answering side(s) in a videoconference have to set a 13 character encryption key (password) before starting the videoconference session.
