Digital microscopes allow the image to be viewed via a computer. There are two types of digital microscopes. A true digital microscope has a built-in CCD chip camera. Standard compound microscopes are often referred to as digital when they have a digital camera attached to the eyepiece. Motic optical microscopes are available with integral digital cameras, these digital microscopes allow images to be displayed, captured on a PC, measured, counted, filed and forwarded in a report format. Motic digital cameras are available as separate camera products that my be retrofitted to existing Motic microscopes or microscopes from other manufacturers with standard microscope components.
