Martin Audio Blackline S18+ sub-bass speaker
Martin Audio Blackline S18+ Blackline S18+ is an extremely compact sub-bass system. It has been designed for use with the F12+ and F15+ full range loudspeakers to extend and increase the total low frequency output power. The S18+ provides good bass punch from a new, long-excursion, 18-inch (460mm)/4-inch (100mm) voice coil driver with a water resistant cone and triple roll surround. The S18+ is provided with a top hat fitting that can be used to pole mount an F12 or F15 above the enclosure. Recommended amplifier 600W-1500W into 4 ohms. Blackline series Martin Audio engineers have incorporated significant improvements throughout the Blackline series. Drivers and crossover networks have been improved and all low frequency drivers used in two-way systems now benefit from the addition of aluminium demodulating rings to minimize the variation in voice coil inductance as the coil moves in the gap. The result is improved midrange clarity and reduced intermodulation distortion at high excursions, ensuring that the sound balance and quality is maintained even at high levels. Special attention has also been given to matching the directivity of the low frequency drivers to the HF horns in the crossover region. This has been achieved by careful choice of LF cone profiles, together with improvements in crossover design.
