Loxit 8110 Step Up 1200 fold away platform

Loxit Step Up 1200 fold away platform for educational whiteboards
Fold away platform, 1200mm long x 550mm x 325mm high, to enable small children to reach their classroom interactive whiteboard.
The STEP-UP folds back against the wall under the overhanging whiteboard when not in use and the front legs fold completely out of the way. The STEP-UP is stored with the weight over centre and leaning against the wall. A safety catch is provided as standard. As the platform is lowered the legs automatically drop into the vertical position where they are held at all times. All linkages and hinges are manufactured to a patented design to avoid trapped fingers. When the platform is in its fully loweredposition the legs are still held in the vertical position and locked in place.
The rear legs are attached to the floor with eight bolts to provide a safe and stable stage. The STEP-UP is designed to let the pupils interact with the whiteboard as intended. For maximum structural integrity the board to is through bolted the the metal support frame below.
Fixing instructions
1. Position the rear support directly below the whiteboard, parallel to and 70mm off the wall.
2a Fixing to a concrete floor. Drill an 8 mm dia hole into the concrete 125mm deep through one of the holes at each end of the support frame. Screw one of the 8mm x 100mm screwbolts provided directly into the concrete in each hole and tighten until the frame is held firm.
Hints
Drill straight holes.
Drill hole deep enough to allow for full embedment plus 25mm for dust created when screwing in bolt.
Apply pressure to the bolt head to start the thread cutting action of the screwbolt.
Undo the screwbolt two turns if resistance is felt and then recommence screwing in until fixed. Repeat as necessary.(this can occur in high strength substrates).
Screw the screwbolt fully down so that the underside of the flange or head is against the item being fixed.
Do not overtighten
Check that the frame is 70mm off and parallel to the wall.
Drill 8mm dia holes through the remaining holes and similarly tighten.
2b Fixing to a timber floor. Following the procedure above screwbolts can be fixed directly into timber using a 7mm dia drill bit. Check for hidden services beneath the floor.
3. Unpack the board top and rest the rear edge of the board on the rear support frame whilst supporting the front edge of the board on the lowered legs. The board will slope down towards the back slightly at this stage.
4. Lift the board slightly at one of the rear corners and screw one of the M5 x 16mm long Pozi headed screws through the hinge and into the frame. Repeat at the other rear corner.
5. It is now safe to raise the board top and lean against the wall. The board should lean positively against the wall. If the board wants to fall forward check the spacing of the rear support off the wall.
6. Insert the remaining six screws into the rear support and tighten
7. With the board in the upright position install one of the tie bars linking the rear support to the front legs. Insert an M8 x 20mm long bolt through the hole in the front leg from the inside to out. Fit an M8 washer between the leg and the tie rod, fit the bar and secure with an M8 Nylock nut without a washer. Tighten the nut until there is minimal play. It is essential that the bolt threads protrude through the blue nylon lock but the nut must be left slack enough so that there is no friction between the tie bar and the leg.
8. Similarly attach the other end of the tie bar to the support frame below.
9. Repeat the procedure for the tie bar at the other end of the STEP-UP.
10. Check that there is no friction in either of the tie bars.
11. With the board in the upright position affix the gravity catch to the wall using the rawl plug, screw and two washers provided.
