Contacta STS-K001L audio bridge sys loop facility
Contacta STS-K001L Contacta STS-K001L, through glass speech transfer system, audio bridge configuration features SecuriCom operating at its optimum level of performance. Close talking microphones, sited at the most effective positions for picking up voice, enable the system to cope with any ambient noise conditions. Applications for the audio bridge system are banks and building societies, bureaux de change, benefit agencies, petrol stations, reception counters, post offices, ticket offices and police stations. The Audio Bridge configuration features SecuriCom operating at its optimum level of performance. Close talking microphones sited at the most effective positions for picking up voice, enable the system to cope with any ambient noise conditions. Audio amplifier Does NOT include installation. The SecuriCom Speech Transfer System (STS) is a two-way intercom specifically designed to aid communication where normal speech is impaired by the use of glass security partitions or similar barriers. Every system is controlled and powered individually and comprises a twin channel audio amplifier, power supply unit, staff unit with integral speaker, a gooseneck microphone for the member of staff and a microphone and speaker for the customer. The mic and speaker modules are supplied in vairous formats to enable the system to be installed in differing locations. These modules are fitted to either the counter surface or surrounding mullion thus preserving the integrity of the glass partition. The system operates on an open-duplex basis, i.e. all microphones and speakers are live simulatenously). Sophisticated electronic circuitry in the amplifier and purpose designed speaker and microphone modules ensure that the risk of acoustic coupling or feedback is kept to a minimum. SecuriCom also offers an optional induction loop facility (STS-K002), which is built into the system for better communication with users of hearing aids. All SecuriCom system components are connected on a plug and socket basis for ease of installation and service. SecuriCom may be purchasd as a system package or as individual modules, thus allowing maximum flexibility to tailor systems to individual requirements. Typical scheme of Speech Transfer System (STS) - individual components sold separately One the customer side is the STS-M54 microphone and STS-560 speaker The customer STS-M54 mic and STS-560 speaker is connected to the STS-A20 amp and power unit. The amp is connected to the staff STS-170 unit. Cabling is from amp to speaker - twin figure of eight; from amp to mic - single core shielded; from amp to staff unit - combined speaker and mic cables. Induction loop systems Induction loop systems make it possible for a deaf or hard of hearing person to make use of a service. You may have been a sign at a bank cashiers point or in restaurant, theatre or lecture classes, which says Induction Loop service, showing the bright yellow logo of an ear with letter T. Market leaders in the UK are SigNET and Contacta, whose products ensure that organisations are meeting their legal requirements and also help provide customer satisfaction and loyalty where induction loop systems are installed. Hearing impared visitors will benefit in these environments from a greater clarity of sound and reduced levels of background noise. The Disability Discrimination Act (UK) states that any business or organisation providing a product or service to the general public are required to install induction looop or infrared systems where it is possible or unreasonably difficult for a deaf or hard of hearing person to make use of a service. Furthermore, British Standard BS8300 (new code of practice for the design of new buildings and how they meet the needs of disabled people), says that a hearing enhancement service, for example an induction loop, should be installed in rooms and areas used for lectures, meetings, classes, etc. How an Induction Loop system works: It allows a hearing aid user to receive signals picked up and transmitted directly to the hearing aid telecoil (T position), so that a person with impaired hearing will be able to overcome the difficulties of a noisy environment or poor acoustic space and hear more clearly. The loop is an insulated thin wire whch runs all around the perimeter of the room to be served, the size of the field required can vary depending on the application. The induction loop is severed by a driver amplifier which is fed from a microphone and/or sound amplification system.
